Friday night’s action started off with a battle at the 125 lb weight class between ranked opponents, with 15th ranked UW senior Tyler Cox. This would be Cox’s last time competing in Laramie as he squared off against Oregon State’s 10th ranked Ronnie Bresser. Cox put on an impressive show for the 733 fans that came out for Senior Night as he beat Bresser 9-3 to earn his 100th career win.

Oregon State won the next four matches at 133, 141, 149 and 157 lbs leading the Pokes 14-3 intermission.

18th ranked Cowboys senior, Dakota Friesth was first up after the intermission as he took to the mat against Oregon’s Seth Thomas. Friesth wrestled a great match, earning two impressive takedowns en route to beating Thomas with a final score of 8-5.

Another UW Senior would be the next to head out on the mat, 14th ranked Andy McCulley looked very motivated for the 35 seconds he was on the mat before securing the cradle on Oregon State’s Joe Latham and getting the fall.

The 184 lb matchup was the second battle between ranked wrestlers of the night. UW’s 19th ranked Benjamin Stroh would be wrestling Oregon State's 7th ranked Taylor Meeks. Meeks won the match with an 8-2 decision.

The third and final battle between ranked wrestlers was next up at 197 lbs. The Cowboys’ 14th ranked Shane Woods was set to battle Oregon State’s 20th ranked Cody Crawford. A win here for Woods would keep the Pokes in the competition, and he didn’t disappoint. Woods earned the win with a final score of 3-2, and brought the Cowboys tp a two point deficit.

The final bout was between UW’s Tanner Harms and Oregon State’s Nate Keeve. The winner of this match would secure the win for his team, and Tanner showed everyone how bad he wanted that win. 16 seconds into the match he scored a takedown. Just 49 seconds later as the crowd erupted, Tanner pinned Keeve and secured the win for his team.
